Description A plan view of the layout of a Lancia D50 Formula One racing car. Original French text cropped out for international usage (see original image). The English translation [additions in parentheses are mine] reads: "The Architecture of the Lancia D50. The front mid-mounted V8 engine [yellow] is inclined at 12° relative to the long axis of the car. The driveshaft [light green] passes to the left of the driver's seat [brown]. The fuel tanks [light blue] are located between the wheels, separated from the rest of the fuselage [red]." Other coloured items not noted are the gearbox and halfshafts [dark blue] and the suspension assemblies [dark green].
