This Tablet and the Cross of the screen were erected to the Glory of God and in grateful memory Of the Saxilby Men who died in the Great War 1914 – 1918.

FRANK EDWARD ANCLIFF. Private 12807, 6th Lincolnshire Regiment. Killed in action 09 August 1916. Son of Edmund and Matilda of Penty House, Saxilby Tubbs, Lincolnshire. Commemorated on the Helles Memorial, Turkey (including Gallipoli).

AKEXANDER ‘ALEC, EDWARD BLADES. Private 13059, 6th Lincolnshire Regiment. Son of Arnold L. Blades, of Station Road, North Hykeham, Lincoln. Native of Saxilby, Lincoln. Died 29 August 1915 age 24. At rest in Hill 10 Cemetery, Turkey (including Gallipoli).

JOHN Edward CODLING. Able Seaman R/5088 Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve ,Anson Battalion, Royal Navy Division. Killed in action 30 December 1917. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.

ERNEST CUNNINGTON. Lance Corporal 27134m 1st King's Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment). Son of Thomas and Annie Cunnington of Bridge Street, Saxilby. Husband of Lillian McManus (formerly Cunnington), of 12, Castle Street, Lincoln. Killed in action 09 October 1917 age 26. Commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.

WILLIAM (k/a WILLIE) CUNNINGTON. Private 11495, 1st Lincolnshire Regiment. Son of Thomas and Annie Cunnington of Bridge Street, Saxilby. Killed in action 26 September 1918 aged 24. Commemorated on the Vis-en-Artois Memorial, France.

LAWRENCE (Mem has Laurence) DRURY. Private 42553 Bedfordshire Regiment, formerly 17841 Lincolnshire Regiment. Son of Charles Edward and Jane Drury of Audas Farm, Saxilby. Died 23 October 1918 aged 19, At rest in Highland Cemetery, Le, Cateau, France.

ARTHUR GLEW. Lance Corporal 2086, 2nd Middlesex Regiment. Son of Arthur George and Sarah Jane Glew, of 33 High Street, Saxilby, Lincoln. Died 23 September 1918 age 31. Commemorated in Sedan-Torcy French National Cemetery (Givet German Cemetery Memorial France

TOM GLEW. M.M. Rifleman C/12341, 12th King’s Royal Rifle Corps. Son of Arthur George and Sarah Jane Glew, of 33 High Street, Saxilby, Lincoln. Killed in action 02 April 1918 aged 24. Commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial, France.

PERCY HENRY STEPHENSON. Gunner 65230, Royal Field Artillery attached to 53rd Battery. Son of Walter and Ellen Stephenson, of 47, Scotgate, Stamford. Native of Saxilby, Lincoln. Died 18 May 1917 age 25. At rest in Philosophe British Cemetery, Mazingarbe, France.

WILLIAM STOREY. Private 128624, 104th Coy, Machine Gun Corps (Infantry) Son of William and Rebecca Storey, of Gainsboro' Road, Saxilby, Lincoln. Died 15 January 1918 age 18. At rest in Bleuet Farm Cemetery, Belgium.
