Summary
[edit]DescriptionSawtooth Mountain (9741026273).jpg |
Sawtooth Mountain above Upper Canyon Creek Lake in the Trinity Alps. This area (Canyon Creek) is sometimes called the Yosemite of the Trinity Alps, because it is filled with sights and gets flooded with people. But after Labor Day, the torrent subsides, and the lake returns to its wilderness state. I saw only three or four people up here, 8 miles from the trailhead, and about 2600 feet up. The granite protrusion on the far right of this photo is a truly impressive Gothic wall, not seen to its advantage from this angle. |
