The Sauerburg is the ruins of a hilltop castle above the Tiefenbach in the Taunus, which flows into the Wisper

| Description |
English: The core castle is enclosed by a trapezoidal bering, with a square keep in the northeast. The 22 meter high tower has six floors; the ground floor served as a dungeon. All floors were equipped with fireplaces. A three-story palace used to stand on the site of today's residential building. Another residential building on the west side has disappeared today. To the south of the core castle is the approximately rectangular lower castle, which is also surrounded by a well-preserved curtain wall.
Deutsch: Die Kernburg wird von einem trapezförmigen Bering umschlossen, mit einem quadratischen Bergfried im Nordosten. Der 22 Meter hohe Turm umfasst sechs Geschosse; das Erdgeschoss diente als Verlies. Sämtliche Geschosse waren mit Kaminen ausgestattet. An der Stelle des heutigen Wohnbaus stand früher ein dreigeschossiger Palas. Ein weiteres Wohngebäude an der Westseite ist heute verschwunden. Der Kernburg südlich vorgelagert ist die etwa rechteckige Unterburg, die ebenfalls von einer gut erhaltenen Ringmauer umgeben ist. |
