Notes Home Guard satchel that belonged to Erling Leth Moller, A Company, Remuera Battalion, Home Guard, WW2 Company Director Erling Leth Moller served with No. A Company of the Remuera Battalion of the Home Guard. He had enrolled for Military Service under the National Service Emergency Regulations in March 1942, but successfully appealed against overseas service on the grounds that he was a British subject only while in New Zealand. His notes on Enemy Lines of Communication include the following- “People who get around from place to place are likely suspects, e.g. Com. Travellers.” “Report anyone who possesses pidgeons” and that “they might also place a message in the dead body of a dog thrown into river”
