Description: Via Nick Zipco (1994) MOB coll. This is a close-up of File:Sarkinite-165299.jpg - which see for various other views including macro. Despite the name, most Sterling Hill sarkinite isn’t really red. I think the color in the photo is fairly accurate – at least on my monitor. These are among the largest – but not the most sharply formed – xls of sarkinite from Sterling Hill that I have seen. Updated with full res image Dec 2012 (parent photo only). July 2014: There is now another child photo showing one of the other larger xls. The stereo child photo does help to clarify the morphology.
