Description
English: Sarkinite
Field of view: 6.8 mm × 4.5 mm
Locality: Sterling Mine, Sterling Hill, Ogdensburg, Sussex County, New Jersey, USA
Description: MOB coll. These are the largest xls in an area roughly 1.5 x 3 cm. They are not the sharpest or gemmiest xls that I have seen but the specimen is exceptionally richly covered with sarkinite. This specimen was obtained directly from Nick Zipco. (This time I was lucky. Two experts have visually confirmed it as sarkinite.) Nov 2012: Updated parent with (tweaked) full res image (even though the TN description still gives the old pixel dimensions).

Beschreibung: Dies sind die größten Exemplare auf einer Fläche von etwa 1,5 x 3 cm. Es sind nicht die schärfsten oder edelsten Steine, die ich je gesehen habe, aber das Exemplar ist außergewöhnlich reich mit Sarkinit bedeckt. Dieses Exemplar wurde direkt von Nick Zipco bezogen. (Dieses Mal hatte ich Glück. Zwei Experten haben visuell bestätigt, dass es sich um Sarkinit handelt.) Nov 2012: Aktualisiertes Bild in voller Auflösung (auch wenn die TN-Beschreibung noch die alten Pixelmaße angibt).
