Stage performer Marie Royer AKA Sarah Brown

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: French Jewish stage performer Marie Royer, who named herself Sarah Brown after Sarah Bernhardt. The risque nature of her costume earned her problems with the authorities. She had red hair, and was known for her beauty despite an otherwise ordinary appearance. She became the muse and lover of some French artists, and died young of tuberculosis. She was also known for her fiery temper and eccentric, yet fun-loving character.
