Français : Au cours de l'été 1912, Sarah Bernhardt commande à sa modiste, Madeleine Lechat, des chapeaux pour la préserver du soleil de Belle-Île. Lorsque le carton à chapeau arrive, Sarah Bernhardt en extrait un énorme couvre-chef de 85 cm de diamètre qui ne correspond pas à son attente ; elle entre dans une violente colère.
Son ami, le peintre Georges Clairin, témoin de la scène, prend alors avec lui le couvercle du carton à chapeau sur lequel il peint le portrait de l'actrice en colère. Carton à chapeau actuellement (2018) conservé à Belle-Île, dans le musée de la citadelle Vauban. |
