Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This is the Sarahatun Mosque, built in 1465 in wood. An official site gives: "It was built as a mosque in 1465 by Sarahatun, the mother of the Akkoyunlu Ruler Hasan Bahadır Han. The mosque has a square plan and its pulpit is one of the beautiful examples of stone workmanship. Although the mosque, whose minaret was completed in 1898, was built as a social complex, today only the mosque part exists. It is still open to worship." In 2006 is was closed, waiting for restoration, but in 2007 I was allowed in, to see the restoration in full swing. I hope to return someday to show the result.
