• Nell'angusta cella in cui Rita morì dopo quarant'anni di vita monastica è conservata una cassa di legno (detta cassa solenne) a forma di sarcofago. I disegni della cassa, eseguiti a tempera da un ignoto artista, raffigurano sulla tavola frontale (divisa in tre scomparti a forma di porticato) santa Maria Maddalena, il Cristo e santa Rita (di cui la foto è un particolare). Santa Rita è vestita da monaca agostiniana e irradia dal capo raggi di luce. Questa immagine è la più antica raffigurazione della Santa.
