Description Another unidentified Sansevieria from Mount Nathulo in Balama district. Altitude: 1100 m.a.s. Local name: "Kamoche Womwako" in the Macua language. Like in case of several other sansevieria species, rhizomes of this species are used to treat a lethal sexually transmitted disease characterized by gradual weight loss and variable symptoms (persitant cough, shingles and other skin conditions, etc.). Rhizomes are cut and pounded into a fine substance and mixed with water, without heating. A single 10-day treatment is said to be sufficient and symptom clearance is quick. This specific species is said to be without any negative side effects. Also used to treat poultry diseases like Newcastle.
