Panauti municipality of Kavrepalanchok district is located in Ward No. 7, i.e. it is located on the left side of the road or south Lilavati river bank from Panauti market. Devotees worship the statue in the central part of this temple facing north, considering it to be the statue of Sankata. To the right and left of this statue of Sankata there are statues of other gods and goddesses. A fair is also held in this temple on the day of Fagun Poonirma. This temple is located in the field at some distance from the famous and ancient temple of Panauti, Indreshwar temple, and to the east of Sankata temple is Bhimsensthan and Guhrieshwari temple in Yalachche tol. Regarding the origin of Sankatadevi, according to Swasthani Bratakatha, it is also believed that the head of Sati Devi fell on this Shaktipeeth. It is also described that by worshiping this goddess, one will get relief. |
