When the natural drainage area of the district has been Natural anddefined, it will be well to ascertain what nature has done ^ramase.for the drainage, and also what has already been done byart in the way of accomplishing the work of sewerage ofthe district. The main lines of sewers will generallytake the direction of the natural drainage valleys. Such Direction ofdrainage valleys will also give the lines in which the sewers.storm-water overflows will have to be constructed.
