Summary

[edit]
Description

Part of plate Plate 18, Insurance Maps of Seattle, Washington, Volume 1, Sanborn Map Company, 1904. This is one of a series of images from this and other nearby pages showing great detail of the Pioneer Square neighborhood at this date.

This image shows an area south of S Jackson Street. The buildings shown here do not survive: this was all radically reconfigured when Union Station and King Street Station were built. At the left, this image extends a bit farther west than where Third Avenue South comes in from the north and hits S Jackson Street. At the right is Fourth Avenue South. The upper right of this image is roughly where the south end of Second Avenue Extension (built circa 1929) is now.

This is a raw image of a plastic-covered document: some reflections and also some shadow.
