Description
English: Not to be confused with the San Francisco de Asis Mission Church in Ranchos de Taos. It is on the Turquoise Trail National Scenic Byway, New Mexico 14, between Albuquerque and Santa Fe. The church was built in the 1830 at the time of a Gold rush in New Mexico. It was restored by Fray Angelica Chavez in the 1960. Golden has a population of less than 100 and is usually describe as being a ghost town. There are many vacant building and remnants of old mines in the area. Saturday Mass is conducted at the church.
