Description House built by construction contractor Samuel Cleage in Athens, Tennessee, in the southeastern United States. Built in the 1820s, served as the offices for the Hiwassee Railroad in the 1830s. Cleage was a construction entrepreneur. This house is not to be confused with the "Samuel Cleage House" listed on the National Register of Historic Places, which is located outside of town along Hwy 11.
