Description
English: Sampler, stitched on fine linen with one colour, including alphabet, numerals, dividing bands and floral motifs, signed, dated and placed. Jane Marshall's work is a fine example of the stylistic features of a marking sampler. Worked in one colour the motifs are symmetrically arranged, and use a variety of stitch types.
