  • Dansk: Efter Spenglers angivelse bestilt af Christian IV til Frederiksborg Slotskirke hos maleren i Rom og sammen med 600 og 602 betalt med 8000rdl. "som hans Quittering udviser, der bevares i Geheimearchivet". Efter Høyen (skrifter 1229) o.a. snarere bekostet af Frederik III. Af breve fra Salvator Rosa fremgår, at dette billede og det af Kadmus solgtes til den danske konge 1661. se Aldo de Rinaldis artikel.

Placeringshistorie: - 1677: billedet nævnes i et Frederiksborginventar og har muligvis været i Frederiksborg Slotskirke allerede 1666 - 1793: tilkommet fra Frederiksborg - magasinet - 1966, juni: til deopt i Christiansborg Slotskirke
