DescriptionSalt Castle.jpg	English: بناها القائد العسكري عيسى شقيق صلاح الدين الأيوبي- كانت عبارة عن مبنى مهيب وضخم يقع فوق جبل (جبل القلعة)أو جبل الأمير وهو الأكثر ارتفاعاً في المنطقة يتوسط مدينة السلط ويشرف على الطريق المؤدية إلى الشام ومصر والحجاز وبيت المقدس حيث كانت مدينة السلط أحد مراكز المقامة لحماية قوافل الحجيج وما زالت احياء من السلط تسمى بأسماء حجاج البلاد فمثلاً حجاج حلب كانوا يقيمون في حي وادي الحلبي وحجاج من الاكراد كانوا يقيمون في حي وادي الاكراد اما عن مبنى القلعة إسلامية التصميم في تشبه قلعة عجلون وكان يحيط بالقلعة خندق عريض (20.40)متر ارتفاع بعض اجزائه 15 متر وفوق الخندق جسر يصل داخلها بإخراجها وما زال حي الخندق بجوار القلعة نسبة إلى الخندق .
