Caltrans District 1: "Salt River in 1909. Now spanned by Salt River Bridge on Rte 211 near Ferndale in Humboldt County. One of our oldest surviving photos." The Ferndale Museum provided information on the people and location. J.A. Shaw is driving. The other man is "Smith Hart", son of Mary Hart and P.F. Hart, the woman is Marianne Shaw.
