English: Western face of Salzgitter-Salder chalk quarry (Lower Saxony, Germany), exposing beds of Middle and Upper Turonian and Lower Coniacian (i.e. Upper Cretaceous) age. The beds are steeply tilted due to their position at the northern flank of the Salzgitter salt anticline.
Deutsch: Westwand des Kalksteinbruches Salzgitter-Salder (Niedersachsen) mit Schichten des Mittel-Turon bis Unter-Coniac (Oberkreide). Die Schichten sind steilgestellt aufgrund der Salztektonik im Harzvorland (der Aufschluss befindet sich an der Nordflanke des Salzgitterer Sattels) |
