Description
Español: Sala de urnas del campo de concentración de Natzweiler-Struthof. Al morir, los prisioneros alemanes tenían el privilegio de que sus cenizas fueran entregadas a sus familias. Para ello estaba esta sala de urnas, que se llenaban con las cenizas del finado. Los familiares, que pagaban entre 60 y 100 marcos por el servicio, no podían saber a ciencia cierta de quién o quiénes eran las cenizas que se les hacían llegar en las urnas.
English: Urn room in KZ Natzweiler-Struthof. After been killed, inmates considered German had the privilege of having their ashes sent home to their families. That was the use of the urns in this room. Ashes were put into an urn and sent to the family, who had to pay from 60 to 100 RM for the service. There was no way to be certain that ashes belonged to any given individual.
