[edit]DescriptionSaint-Gilles - Ma Campagne - Chaussée de Charleroi - avant 1905 (collection Dexia).jpg |
English: Saint-Gilles - Ma Campagne - Chaussée de Charleroi - avant 1905 (collection Dexia)
The place called “Ma Campagne” owes its name to a tavern opened in 1845 at the corner of chaussée de Waterloo and chaussée de Charleroi. The watering hole was replaced in 1906 by an Art Nouveau building designed by the architect Benjamin De Lestré-De Fabribeckers. A hotel and catering establishment began operating there in 1933 and continued to do so until 1960, when it switched to offering banking services. |
