English: A member of the Men of Steel team helps guide their submersible around the multi-tiered platform that served as the obstacle course for the culminating event of SeaPerch Academy Summer Camp, which was judged in part by U.S. Navy submariners from Naval Surface Warfare Center, Corona Division in Norco. SeaPerch Academy is a two-week robotics contest organized by The Science Experience and supported in part by the Norco-based warfare center and the Office of Naval Research. The Science Experience is a fledgling center for science education based in Banning, Calif., that is working to familiarize local children with science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The event was supported by the local warfare center as part of its long-term strategy to develop the next generation of Navy scientists and engineers.
