English: Safely anchored The Ridge Hill Transmitter was opened for VHF (405line) TV transmissions in 1968, UHF broadcasting from 1972. The 164.6m cable stayed, steel lattice mast is held in position by 4 sets of stays. Height above sea level is 363m.
Nederlands: De stevig verankerde zendmast van Ridge Hill. De eerste uitzendingen vonden plaats in 1968 - in de vhf-band met het toenmalige 405-beeldlijnensysteem, de uhf uitzending begonnen in 1972. De vakwerkmast van 164,6 meter hoogte is getuid met vier stel stagen, de hoogte boven zee is 363,6 meter. |
