Description

Saarburg est une ville d'Allemagne, située à proximité de Trêves dans le Land de Rhénanie-Palatinat.

Ville médiévale,fief des comtes puis ducs de Luxembourg en bordure de la Sarre (Saar) qui lui donne son nom, elle est traversée par le ruisseau "Leuck" et sa chute d'eau impressionnante d'une hauteur de 20m en plein centre ville.

La ville devint prussienne au traité de Vienne.

La ville est jumelée avec son homologue française de Sarrebourg (département voisin de la Moselle) située en amont de la même rivière.
