Description |
The original finding aid described this as: Description: STS-72 extravehicular mobility unit (EMU) suited Mission Specialist Leroy Chiao (EV1) accesses the soft stowage assembly mounted on the starboard Bay 4 with the body restraint tether (BRT) attached to a handrail (002-3, 014-15). Mission Specialist Winston Scott (EV3) prepares the workstation on the Spartan Flight Support Structure (SFSS) port side where he will be conducting Detailed Test Ojective (DTO) 833 - EMU Thermal Comfort (004-6). Scott moves thermal cube attached to tether into position, and the red, white and blue of the earth's terminator is clearly seen (007-10). Tail assembly with red, white and blue earth terminator (011). Blurry image of Chiao working at starboard side of payload bay, his helmet lights illuminating the hardware (012). Very blurry and underexposed image of earth terminator and RMS arm (013). Scott works to install the On-Orbit-Installed Slidewire at the starboard side Bay 4 while the wire floats all over the place (016-21). Shuttle Solar Backscatter UV (SSBUV) closed canisters mounted on starboard sill (022). Detail of Return Flux Experiment (REFLEX) patch on top port corner of Office of Aeronautics and Space Technology-Flyer (OAST-Flyer) (023). Overview of OAST-Flyer (024-25). Chiao handles the Articulating Portable Foot Restraint (APFR) of the Portable Work Platform (PWP) while held in place by a BRT. The mini-workstation mounted to the front of his EMU holds a rigid tether and power tool (026-29). Scott conducts DTO 833 - EMU Thermal Comfort evaluation standing on a foot restraint attached to the Spartan Flight Support Structure (SFSS) with a thermal cube behind him (030-36). Scott's gold-plated visor is pulled down over his face almost completely.
