English:

A cast copper alloy Early Medieval zoomorphic strap end dating to AD 800-1100. It consists of a sub-rectangular narrow plate, which tapers slightly flares towards the attachment end which is missing.

The front side of the plate has worn transverse grooves below where the plate flares and further worn grooves just above the zoomorphic terminal. The long edges of the plate between the two triplets of grooves are slightly bevelled. 

The terminal depicts an animal head with oblique and notched eyes and slightly raised nostrils.The head is stylized and squared. The back face of the plate is flat and slightly curves backwards where it flares. Light green and brown patina all over.
