Description
Português: O programa STJ Cidadão debate o acesso à saúde no Brasil e os caminhos da judicialização

O Sistema Único de Saúde foi criado pela Lei 8.080/90. Ela dispõe sobre as condições para promoção, proteção e recuperação da saúde, a organização e o funcionamento dos serviços correspondentes. Apesar de o acesso a saúde ser direito fundamental previsto na Constituição Federal de 1988, nem sempre o cidadão consegue medicamentos ou tratamentos com a agilidade necessária para assegurar a saúde e a qualidade de vida. Quando isso acontece o caminho percorrido é o que leva até a justiça. O programa STJ Cidadão desta semana traz a história de pacientes com doenças raras ou graves que recebem tratamento ou insumos por meio do SUS. Também o caso de quem precisou procurar a justiça para ter acesso a remédios fora da lista do sistema nacional. Ainda participam do programa representantes do Ministério da Saúde, Promotoria de Defesa da Saúde e Defensoria Pública. 

           O ministro do Superior Tribunal de Justiça Benedito Gonçalves, fala sobre o direito à saúde, o papel do Estado previsto em lei, os caminhos que levam à justiça e a linha tênue entre atender necessidades individuais ou coletivas.
O STJ Cidadão vai ao ar na TV Justiça, inédito, toda quinta-feira às 21 horas.
