Summary
[edit]DescriptionSS Delphine (26555066218).jpg |
The SS Delphine is a yacht that was first launched on 2 April 1921 and with modification to her boilers is still going strong. She was seen here moored offshore at Monaco. She has a long and interesting history, including war service in WW2, when she was the flagship for Admiral Ernest King, Commander in Chief of the U.S. Fleet and Chief of Naval Operations. Returning to civilian hands after the war, she changed owners several times and coming close to being scrapped. She was saved by a $60 Million restoration and is now available for charter (if you can afford it). I think she is a very nice looking - even elegant -vessel and hope she continues to sail for many years. |
