[edit]DescriptionSHEILA WAKEFIELD AT THE LIT & PHIL, NEWCASTLE (16365878880).jpg |
Seen here Sheila Wakefield is the founder of The Red Squirrel Press. The event is a presentation of readings from two recent publications: Colin Will's Book Of Ways and Double-Bill, a collection of poems inspired by popular culture, edited by Andy Jackson. With many of the poets present and reading it all made for a very entertaining evening. From the Red Squirrel Press website:- Red Squirrel Press is an independent publisher based in Northumberland. We were formed in April 2006 by Sheila Wakefield and have published over 120 titles to date and many more are in production. We publish poetry (full collections and pamphlets) and short fiction (short story collections and novellas). Red Squirrel runs the annual James Kirkup Memorial Poetry Competition and the annual Sara Park Short Story Competition. Red Squirrel Press has never had Arts Council England or any other form of funding. Kevin Cadwallender became Scottish Commissioning Editor in 2008. |
