Description
English: A U.S. Navy Sikorsky SH-3G Sea King (BuNo 151539) of Helicopter AntiSubmarine Squadron 1 (HS-1) "Seahorses" hovers over the fantail of the destroyer USS Manley (DD-940) in 1982. Note the helicopter's nickname "Desert Duck". The "Desert Duck" was the nickname of the HS-1 Detachment 1 helicopter(s) assigned to the "Commander, Middle East Forces" (COMIDEASTFOR) aboard the command ships USS La Salle (AGF-3) or USS Coronado (AGF-11), mostly stationed at Bahrain.
