English: U.S. Army Pfc. Elijah Brady, assigned to Bastion Company, 54th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 173rd Airborne Brigade, packs his medical during North and West African Response Force (NARF) training at Aviano Air Base, Italy on Dec. 19, 2023. The training is to keep the unit prepared for no-notice rapid deployment capabilities of U.S. Africa Command’s NARF, which is made up of elements of the 173rd Airborne Brigade and U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF) from Vicenza, Italy. The NARF's mission is crisis and contingency response in North and West Africa, including protecting U.S. interests in the U.S. Africa Command area of responsibility. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt.
