Minister of National Defense, 1960; Ambassador to Italy, 1961-67; member of the National Assembly, 1973-80. MG Kim Baek-il (김백일, 1917-1951) - Imperial Manchukuo Army officer (Captain), 1937-1945; Army Deputy Chief of Staff, 1950; CG, ROK I Corps, 1950-51; died in air crash on 28 March 1951.
