Description
English: With ferry traffic suspended since 7 August 45 when the barge was sunk when a cable snapped, pulling a hole out in the side, the troops used a narrow 600ft long catwalk to cross the wide river while many vehicles of the 1st, 8th and 54th armies had to wait while American Engineers and some liaison personnel repaired the ferry.
