Description
Das Wohlfahrthaus der SLM wurde am 3. Mai 1902 eingeweiht. Das "Arbeiterkasino", wie es auch genannt wurde, bot den Fabrikarbeitern eine Verpflegungsmöglichkeit an, sorgte aber auch für Unterhaltung. So gastierte im Winterhalbjahr das Stadtorchester Winterthur zweimal im Monat im Wohlfahrthaus. Mit dem Bau der neuen Sulzer-Kantine wurde der eigene Verpflegungsbetrieb eingestellt. Das freigewordene Haus diente anschliessend lange als Werkmeisterschule.
