Description
The original finding aid described this as: Description: Photographic documentation showing STS-45 crew posing for a portrait on the forward flight deck of the orbiter Atlantis. 001 is a crew portrait without Mission Specialist (MS) and payload commander Kathryn D. Sullivan who is setting the camera. 002-003 show Sullivan moving in front of the camera, taking off her glasses and lining up next to mission commander Charles F. Bolden. 004-012 show the complete crew portrait: (left to right), front: MS and payload commander Kathryn D. Sullivan and mission commander Charles F. Bolden; back: MS David C. Leesma, pilot Brian Duffy, payload specialist Byron K. Lichtenberg, payload specialist D. Dirk Frimout and MS C. Michael Foale. In 013 Sullivan disappears from the portrait and in 014-015 returns, with the camera taking closer photographs. In 019 Sullivan is gone again to return in 020 with the inflatable Earth ball.
