DescriptionS2 torpedo tube 6.JPG |
English: 456 mm (18.0 in) torpedo tube of the Finnish torpedo boat S2. The torpedo tube belonged originally to the Russian torpedo boat Bditelnyj, which struck a mine and sank on 27th of November 1917. The torpedo tubes of Bditelnyj were salvaged in 1919, and mounted on the torpedo boats S1 and S2 in early 1925. S2 foundered in a storm in October 1925 and was lost with all hands. S2 was salvaged in 1926, and this torpedo tube was placed on display in Suomenlinna in 1930. Restored in 2009-2010 and now in Manege Military Museum. The torpedo tube is manufactured at Vulcan shipyard and engineering works in Turku, serial number 48.
Suomi: Torpedovene S2:n 456 mm torpedoputki. Torpedoputki on valmistettu Vulcanin telakalla Turussa, sarjanumero 48. |
