English: 1980 Tiga SC80, driven by Niels Jørgen Jørgensen in the "Le Mans & Prototypes" exhibition class of the 2014 CRAA (Classic Race Aarhus)
Built by Tiga Race Cars Ltd., a british racing car constructor and team founded in 1974 be ex-Formula 1 drivers Tim Schenken and Howden Ganley - the Tiga name is derived from the first two letters of TIm and GAnley, respectively. Tiga was quite active and succesful in several classes just outside the "major leagues" of racing and at one point got very close to launching a Formula 1 car. The SC80 was built for the class "Sports 2000", aka S2000 or S2 - a two-seater, mid-engined, open cockpit, full-body sports prototype class, inspired by the FIA Group 6 class as a less expensive alternative, primarily for amateur racers wanting to experience the thrills of sportscar racing.Français : Tiga SC80 pilotée par Niels Jørgen Jørgensen dans la catégorie "Le Mans & Prototypes" lors de la Classic Race Aarhus 2014 |
