Hampton, Feb 25 [pencil: 1886]
Dear Miss Longfellow,
Many thanks for your kind letter and gift. I enclose [??] receipts.
I expect to be in Boston from Mch 31st to April 7th with Battice and “Fire Cloud"; each with check. I think you’ll have a chance to meet them at. [p. 2] Mr Coolidges 191 Comm Av. on April 1st, if the present plan is carried out.
Could there be a day meeting in April in Cambridge, in parlor or small rooms for an Indian talk? We might be able to go out there for an evening – say Sat. April 3rd – to stir up things a little. I’d like [p. 3] your advice. I’d be glad to say to thoughtful people a few words on both races: select meetings are as good as big ones I think.
I dont [sic] wish to trouble you but ask for counsel
I very much hope you’ll be here at an anniversary May 20th & a day or two before
Sincerely your S.C. Armstrong
