Description
Deutsch: Echtfarbenaufnahme des Südpols und der südlichen Hemisphäre bis nahe an den Marsäquator, aufgenommen von der HRSC in Orbit 14150. In der unteren Bildhälfte ist die Südpolkappe des Mars zu erkennen, die aus einer Mischung aus Wasser- und Kohlendioxideis besteht. Auf den dunklen Flächen befinden sich Ansammlungen dunkler, vulkanischer Sande. Kreisrunde Strukturen stellen Einschlagskrater dar.
