Français : COSTER Martin, (1819-1880), consul-général des Pays-Bas à Paris, dirigeant de Coster Diamonds, une des plus grandes tailleries de diamants Amsterdam, prenant la succession de son père Moses Élias Coster, fondateur en 1840 de l’entreprise, c’est aussi un collectionneur d’art, il est né le 26 octobre 1819 à Bruxelles, décédé le 1er février 1880 à Paris 8e .
Il est le fils de Moses Élias Coster, (28 février 1791, Amsterdam - 25 Décembre 1848, Amsterdam) et de Clasina Meyer Polak, (1792-1872), mariage le 9 février 1814 à Utrecht. Il était célibataire. Coster Diamonds est une des plus anciennes entreprises, encore en activité, de taillage de diamants à Amsterdam. Ils ont fait le polissage de grands diamants, dont le célèbre Koh-I-Noor, un diamant aux reflets bleus et blancs appartenant aux joyaux de la Couronne d'Angleterre, et le diamant vert de Dresde de la Cour de Saxe. Martin Coster habitait la Villa Cenerentola à Ville-d'Avray, villa qui fut ensuite la propriété de la cantatrice italienne Marietta Alboni, (1826-1894). La tombe est dans la 3e division du cimetière Montmartre, orientée Nord, près du mur d'enceinte Coster Diamonds is een Nederlandse diamantslijperij. Het is één van de oudste nog in bedrijf zijnde diamantslijperijen in Nederland en was verantwoordelijk voor de creatie van een aantal historische meesterwerken, zoals het herslijpen van de Koh-i-Noor, het pronkstuk van de Engelse kroonjuwelen en de Dresden-diamant, die deel uitmaakt van de kroonjuwelen van het Saksische vorstenhuis. 1840: Moses Elias Coster, diamantslijper te Amsterdam, sticht Coster Diamonds in een fabrieksgebouw aan het Waterlooplein. 1848: Zoon Meijer Moses Coster (Martin) volgt zijn vader op. Hij vertrekt naar Parijs voor nieuwe zaken. |
