Description
English: Sami drum from Lycksele. Frame drum. No 39 in Ernst Manker's Die lappische Zaubertrommel (1938/1950). Owned by Mucem, Marseille, see DMH1882.66.1-2. Before Mucem it was at Musee de l'homme, Paris, as an exchange objekt with Nationalmuseum, Copenhagen after 1883. Originally owned by Jon Anderson i Raan. Probably, according to Manker, confiscated by Thomas von Westen ca. 1720, and brought to Copenhagen 1723 as part of his collection of ca. 100 drums, most of which were destroyed in a fire in 1728.

Author Ernst Manker. Scanning, cleaning up minor imperfections in the reproduction and removing the numbers was made by Tor Gjerde at old.no; Christopher Forster made the PNG images white background transparent using ImageMagick on GNU/Linux.
