Description
English: Sami drum from southern sami area in Norway or Sweden. Frame drum. Height 48, width 30 cm. No 31 in Ernst Manker's Die lappische Zaubertrommel (1938/1950).
In Nationalmuseet, Copenhagen, since 1849. Previously in Kgl. Kunstmuseum, Copenhagen, since 1739; possibly one of the ca. 100 drums confiscated by Thomas von Westen. See La.4 (Objid 72281).

Author Ernst Manker. Scanning, cleaning up minor imperfections in the reproduction and removing the numbers was made by Tor Gjerde at old.no; Christopher Forster made the PNG images white background transparent using ImageMagick on GNU/Linux.
