English: Sami drum, probably from Åsele Lappmark. Frame drum. 44 × 29 cm. No 9 in Ernst Manker's Die lappische Zaubertrommel (1938/1950). Confiscated by the bishop of Härnosand Petrus Asp during his visitation in Åsele new years day, january 1725. A total of 26 drums were confiscated that day and given to the Antiquitätsarchiv in Stockholm. Owned by Statens Historiske Museum (SHM 360:27); depostited at Nordiska Museet, Stockholm. |
