Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Ryton Island Presumably this was once an island in the River Tyne. It now lies firmly on the north bank of the river, whilst Ryton itself (whose church spire can be seen NZ1564) is on the south bank. At this point both Hadrian's Cycleway http://www.cycle-routes.org/HADRIANSCYCLEWAY/and Hadrian's Wall National Trail http://www.nationaltrail.co.uk/hadrianswall/ switch from a disused railway path down onto a path on the river bank.
