Propuesta que trabaja el concepto de museo a cielo abierto utilizando como camino principal la Ruta Provincial N° 12. La mara (Dolichotis patagonum) también conocida como mara patagónica, es un mamífero endémico de Argentina. El término MARA es una sigla para Museo Arqueológico Regional Austral. Esta ruta pretende trazar una relación entre los patrimonios arqueológicos, paleontológicos y geológicos que se encuentran en esa zona, que forma parte del denominado Macizo del Deseado. Entre algunos de los sitios se encuentran: Valle de Río Deseado, Estancia Los Toldos, Piedra Museo, Sierras Blancas, entre muchos otros que permiten aventurarse en ricos paisajes naturales vírgenes patagónicos. El Cerro Pico Truncado y el Valle del Río Deseado, a 18 kilómetros de la ciudad, dan inicio a esta travesía que sigue con la inmensidad de la meseta, que podría llamársela sierra pues se presenta muy ondulada. Mientras se avanza, se puede observar el paso del tiempo en los cerros mediante las capas que muestran y permiten imaginar los diferentes tiempos geológicos. Habiendo dejado atrás la Ciudad Sonora, nos encontramos con paisajes solitarios en extremo donde no se oye ruido alguno. Sus cerros con cimas ocupadas por lava basáltica nos permiten transportarnos millones de años en el tiempo y descubrir un entorno inestable con erupciones volcánicas por toda la región, cerros casi horizontales que han sido elevados por estas reacciones geológicas. En esta ruta podemos descubrir sitios utilizados por comunidades Tehuelches, que hace miles de años aprovechaban sustentablemente las riquezas que la madre tierra les proveía. Todos patrimonios naturales y culturales que son estudiados por profesionales de diferentes áreas científicas hasta el día de hoy. |
