Summary
[edit]DescriptionRusty Low-Riding VW Thing @ 2019 Dade City Bug Jam-03.jpg |
English: One of three photographs of a rusted pre-1974 Volkswagen Thing (Type 181) converted into a low-rider, and possibly a rat-rod at the 2019 Dade City Bug Jam, a convention of mostly antique and/or customized Volkswagen shown off at the Pasco County Fairgrounds in Dade City, Florida. This was not the only thing at this convention. All Volkswagen Type 181s and their variants had fold-down windshields, like their military predecessors (Types 82 and 166), and the Jeeps used against them during World War II. Because of this, Volkswagen of America tried to pass them off as beach cruising vehicles. The lack of four-wheel-drive got in the way of that. |
