Summary

[edit]
Description A half-scale doll dropped from an airplane during the Normandy Invasion, RUPERT (an acronym whose meaning I don't recall) was featured in the film "The Longest Day." It looked much like a real paratrooper, even more so in the dark, when the paratroopers were dropped into France. They had noisemakers which erupted when they hit the ground, making it sound as if a much bigger invasion force had landed. This one is at the Ripley's Believe It Or Not Odditorium in San Antonio, Texas. The museum says there are only three left in the world.
